2006 North Vegas

It's finally here and it has been worth the wait! Welcome to North's response to bow kites. You can have both the safety feature of
maximum de power with a bow kite and the superior performance of a C kite with the 06 North Vegas. This kite is a must have in
your quiver. The new 06 North Vegas has significant design improvements over previous years kites.  The new design of the
North Vegas enables riders to have maximum wind range and optimum safety. This makes the new North Vegas a great kite for
beginner, intermediate, and advance kiteboarders. East Coast Kiteboarding had the opportunity to test out the new 12m and 9m
Vegas' this weekend. We only tested the kite as a 5-line, so we cannot comment on 4-line performance.
Kite Construction -  The most noticeable and biggest improvements over last years construction include strut diameter, Cam
battens, and Trim Tips. The same solid construction materials as last year's kite make this year's Vegas extremely durable. The
interior struts are smaller in diameter than the outside struts and enable you pump the struts rock solid. As with the 06 Rhino, the
06 Vegas features Cam battens to maintain the most efficient kite shape. Lastly the Trim Tip wing tips allow the kite to de-power
close to 100%.
Turning Speed – As with all North kites the turning speed is adjustable by moving the pigtails in or out on the trailing edge of the
kite. One of the most noticeable differences from last years kite are the wing tips. This years tips are almost twice the width of last
years making the Vegas even faster than in 2005.  Bar pressure on new 06 5th Element Iron Heart bar is perfect (not to heavy or
light), which allows beginner and advanced riders feel where the kite is at all times.
Power – Solid power. The wind range on this kite is amazing, great low end power but also incredibly easy to edge out when over
powered. I have ridden this kite in 15-25 knots and have never been overpowered. The de power system of the new North Vegas
is similar to the renowned bow kites.
Lift –  Incredible. The kite's design makes jumping huge a breeze.
Wind Range -
9m - 17 to 30 knots
12m - 13 to 24 knots
