All kiteboarding lessons are taught on wide sandy South Florida beaches with full sized 4-line
inflatable North kites. Kitesurfing Lessons include gear, wet suits, on-the-water radio
communication and an East Coast Kite boarding safety information handout. Kiteboarding
instruction ranges from beginner to advanced. Lessons run year-round. Reduced rates are
available for group kitesurfing lessons; call 954-295-5778 or e-mail for information and

Kite Control / Beginner Level 1

One-on-one Lesson - $350 Per Person
Semi Private Lesson (2 students booked together) - $225 Per Person

A three-hour kiteboarding lesson covering the basics of kiteboarding. This kitesurfing lesson is the first step to accelerating your learning curve and staying safe.

Skills you will learn:
- Weather conditions and choosing a safe location
- How to set up a four line inflatable kite
- Kite theory and the wind window
- Safety systems, preflight check
- Basic kiteboarding etiquette and hand signals
- Flying the kite at the edge of the wind window to generate power
- Activating the leash by letting go of the bar
- Untwisting the lines with the kite in the air
- Launching and landing a full-sized inflatable kite

Water Control/ Beginner Level 2

One-on-one Lesson - $350 Per Person
Semi Private Lesson (2 students booked together) - $225 Per Person

The next three-hour kiteboarding lesson allows you to experience the true power of the kite in the water. This is the next step in order to get up and stand up!

Skills you will learn:
- Body dragging unhooked
- Using a kiteboarding harness
- Activating the safety quick release
- Controlling the kite with one hand while hooked into the harness
- Body dragging hooked into the harness
- Re-launching the kite in the water
- Performing self-rescues
- Body dragging upwind

Get-Up Stand-Up / Beginner Level 3

One-on-one Lesson - $350 Per Person
Semi Private Lesson (2 students booked together) - $225 Per Person

This three-hour lesson emphasizes board control and riding. By the end of this lesson you will be standing up and on your way to being able to ride upwind.

Skills you will learn:
- Board control
- Water starts in shallow water
- Board recovery with out using a board leash
- Proper body positioning and edge control
- Generating steady power with the kite
- Riding in both directions
- Appropriate Gear selection for wind conditions

Rip Upwind Beginner Kiteboarding Package (Two-three Day)

Private L esson (One-on-one) - $630 Per Person

This is a six-hour accelerated beginner kiteboarding course that is designed for beginner
kiteboarders with previous sailing, wind surfing, or board sport experience. This course works
on expanding and developing your skills to become a self-sufficient kiteboarder to enable you
to progress safely on your own. Radio communication insures you are receiving the maximum
instructional information to accelerate you learning curve. The Rip Upwind Beginner Package
is divides the six hours into two 3-hour sessions for maximum information retention.

Private Kiteboarding Instruction

Private Lesson (1 on 1) - $150

Private instruction includes one hour of 1-on-1 kiteboarding lessons with an experienced ECK
coach. Whether you are a complete beginner or you're up and riding now and want to ride like a
pro, ECK has private instruction for all levels. Syllabus flexibility in a private kitesurfing lesson
allows you to maximize your lesson time by learning the skills suited to your level of previous
experience and style of riding. Take a beginner or advanced private kiteboarding lesson. Learn
ECK levels 1, 2, 3, 4 or jumping, wake style tricks, wave riding, and kite loops. Whatever your
style, our experienced kiteboarding instructors will take you to the next level.

Power and Edge / Beginner Level 4

Private Lesson (One-on-one) - $350 Per Person
Semi Private Lesson (2 students) - $225 Per Person (booking together)

This three-hour lesson is the final ECK beginner stage kiteboarding lesson. Level 4 focuses on
controlling the power in the kite while riding, kiteboard edging skills, transitions and riding
upwind. Level 4 students can choose to use their own gear for help on tuning and setting up, or
try out a variety of ECK’s gear.

Skills you will learn:
- Proper body positioning and edge control
- Transitions / changing directions
- Riding switch and toe side
- Setting up new gear
- Kite tuning and repair
- Intro to new innovations in kites including 5th line attachments and re-launch systems

Powered Up Beginner Kiteboarding Package (Three-four Day)

Private Lesson (3 students) - $890 Per Person
Semi Private Lesson (2 students booked together) - $670 Per Person (booking together)

This is a nine-hour comprehensive beginner kiteboarding course, that is designed for beginner
kiteboarders with no previous sailing, wind surfing, or board sport experience. This course works
on expanding and developing your skills to become a self-sufficient kiteboarder to enable you to
progress safely on your own. The Power Up Progression Package divides the nine hours into
three 3-hour sessions for maximum information retention.
